This season the Caurnie Angling Club will have a ‘Wheelyboat’ on Antermony Loch. This will enable wheelchair users to fly-fish for trout, without having to leave their chair. The Club invites anyone wishing to use this facility to contact the Club Secretary. For those who are not anglers, but who may be interested in taking up the sport, it is proposed to have an evening, where potential anglers, wheelchair users or not, can explore the idea with club members. Also on the members page using your password you can see the very good advice from our secretary that wil certainly help you to increase your catches

Well Done Calum a magnificient achievement

Pictures of Calum Robertson, who won the 'Last Cast Competition' at
Antermony, with his trophy and his three brownies,
look at this year's
growth on the tails. .
Calum was presented with a new trophy, 'The Secretary's Quaich'.
He beat Jim Twaddle, who was in the same boat and Peter Tanner.
Nine members fished, catching 9 brownies and two rainbows for a weight of
11lb. 2oz.
Those present were treated to a barbecue by Dave Morrison, whose piece de
resistance was cheese and bacon, puff pastries, these were brilliant,
particularly when they topped off Dave's home made, one pounder burgers.
Needless to say no dinner tonight.

‘The Committee wishes to thank everyone who turned up to make it a most enjoyable afternoon at the loch on Sunday and in particular to thank, Willie McCutcheon, Dave Morrison, Robert Malcolm and Roy Dempster, who went out of their way to put on demonstrations for the edification of the rest of us. It was an experiment to increase the social side of the Club and to welcome new members. I think it was successful and perhaps it could be repeated ...........Roger Hughes............

Six Cormorants spotted on Stank by Stuart Malcolm & Fraser McClure on 10/09/08 this was the best picture we could get with a mobile phone camera, when we got close to them to get a better picture they took off !!!

The average cormorant weighs approximately 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs) and will eat about 25% of its weight in fish each day or about 0.48 kg (1.0 lbs). Most adult cormorants reside from August to April (approx 233 days). During that time, one adult cormorant will eat about (233 lbs) of fish.
